09 Fun Walk is best yet

Today, 80 local charities and good causes converged on Barleyland’s Farm to participate in these years Fun Walk. A record number of walkers together with live music, a barn full of stalls and a fantastic BBQ by the Team Handsome all combined to make this a record year, helped by great weather. Last year 59 charities joined the walk.
John said:
"80 local charities and good causes have helped to make this year's Fun Walk a brilliant success. Everybody’s enjoyed themselves and raised an awful lot of money for people less fortunate than ourselves. Many animal groups have also benefited."
"I would like to thank our marshals, the 1,000 walkers, our sponsors, Barleylands Farm and my own Fun Walk Committee for helping to make this the best Fun Walk ever. We shall now wait to see exactly how much money has been raised but whatever there were lots of smiling faces today."
“A particular thanks go to our corporate sponsors who together have created a bonus pot worth £18,000. This will be distributed to all 80 charities on a pro rata basis, and is a bonus over and above what the charities raise themselves in sponsorship.”
Notes
1. The attached photos show various snaps at the walk:-

2. Attached is a copy of the Briefing Note, Fact Sheet and list of Charities and good causes taking part.
3. The time table going forward now is that the charities have to return to the Fun Walk committee copies of sponsorship forms by the 20th June in order to calculate total money raised. The presentation of bonus cheques will take place on 17th July at 6.00pm, in the meeting rooms behind the Rising Sun Pub, Billericay.
4. The bonus corporate sponsors are: Veolia Environmental Services [lead sponsor], A&B Taxis, GKM Aerospace, Obsidian Communications, South West Essex PCT, Stock Brook Manor, Mr Barrie Stone and Toomey Motors.
